Renaissance men are born, not made. Stanley Taub is a renowned plastic surgeon, concert pianist, medical inventor, accomplished playwright, ventriloquist, actor and artist.

SCULPTURE: Taub began his imaginative journey as a sculptor in 1963, around the time he started his plastic surgery practice in New York. His first sculpture, a marble carving of his hand, earned him his first notices. This would mark the beginning of a lengthy career in sculpting and award recognition. He has been the recipient of numerous honors, which include three first prizes presented by The New York Physicians Art Association and a Certificate of Outstanding Artistic Contribution from the New York Academy of Medicine. His sculptures have been exhibited by the National Sculpture Society. His sculpture “Compassion” was commissioned by The American Society of Plastic Surgery. The Yale Music Library acquired his life size bust of Vladimir Horowitz and his commissioned sculpture portraits of Arthur Rubinstein and Henry Z. Steinway reside at Steinway Hall and the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad California. His life size sculpture of John Curry, the Olympic World figure skater champion was commissioned for The British National Skating Arena. His life size portrait of renowned skater Patricia Dodd resides in The World Figure Skating Museum in Colorado Springs.

GLASS WORKS: Taub’s freestyle stained Glassworks appeared in the April 2008 issue of Art in America and The Art and Antiques Collectors’ Source Book. Most recently, in April 2008 he had a one man show at the ICO Gallery in Tribeca, New York City.

MUSIC: Stanley Taub is also a classically trained pianist who has devoted himself to the art of improvised performance. After seventeen years of developing his own unique style, he gave his first solo improv concert at Steinway Hall. In February of 2006. His improvisation of “Three Blind Mice” was featured on David Dubal’s WQXR program Reflections from the Keyboard. Taub is the founder of the Virtuoso Improvisational Pianists of New York. This exciting group of pianists gave their debut at the Klavier Haus in 2005 and since have given recitals at Steinway hall, The Rose Hall Auditorium at Lincoln Center, The Yamaha Artist concert hall and The ICO Gallery in New York.

VENTRILOQUISM: Dr. Taub is also a Master Ventriloquist performing with an array of vent figures some of them dating back to the early 1900’s. As a ventriloquist, he can be seen on Youtube with his invention, the animated suitcase, and his sidekick Lyle.

FILM ARCHIVE: Dr. Taub has also been the subject of a feature length documentary called, “The World of Taub”. This cinematic bio opens the door to anyone curious about the limitless creativity of one man and his ability to do all things well.
