"Playmates"

A unique example of Taub's love of Italian "Puttos" can be seen in his
rendition of Andrea del Verrocchio 15th century florentine "Putto". Taub sculpts
a baby dolphin in place of a the original sea monster and adds ice skates to the
baby's feet. He calls it "Playmates". Taub's commisioned putto resides at the
poolside of an avid skating afficionado. A copy of the original formerly stood on a
14 foot pedestal at the corner of Houston Street and West Broadway in
New York City. It was without ice skates and was renamed "Soho Muse".
It served as a beacon to all visitors entering Soho.
